Thank you for joining our group to help build a platform!

We had our Holiday Party on December 4th. I would like to thank the ladies who joined us on a very cold evening. In our meeting we talked about a great initiative a WINNER, Cigdem Acar, has started, the Bridges of Hope Project (BOHP), with the goal to raise awareness and resources for non-profit organizations that promote economic and social development in Turkey. We gave our brochures to support a brilliant project of ILKYAR: You can change a young girl's life by either supporting her education with a $40 per month scholarship and/or connecting with her to become her role model (yonder). The role model commitment requires you to communicate with your girl via e-mail and her phone exchange. These girls want to go to school and join the work force. They do not have the money or role models. ILKYAR is a student organization of METU (Middle East Technical University), and has a great track record of channeling funds. BOHP is also working with them. WINNERs involved with this particular ILKYAR initiative are: Nilufer Durak, Cigdem Kaya and myself. E-mail  win@forum.org to get an electronic copy of the brochures.
