Dear Members and Friends,
Turkish-American Business Forum held its Seventh Annual
Gala at Pier 60, The Lighthouse on February 26
th, 2009 with close to 250 people attending.
The evening at The Lighthouse started off with
cocktails and delicious appetizers. Among the guests were His Excellency Baki Ilkin and Ms. Ilkin
and Honorable Mehmet Samsar, as well as the prominent members of the Turkish-American business
community.
Attendees were seated around 8:30pm and Forum President Ms. Seyhan Arkonac
welcomed all guests with opening remarks and invited Mr. Murat Agirnasli, the former
president, to present Mr. Mustafa Seker his “Lifetime Achievement Award.” The highlight of the
evening was the “New York Gypsy All-Stars” who were truly magnificent. Before they took the stage,
the guests enjoyed the magical music and rhythm of Flamenco and Cuban music by Nu Guajiro and
Hernan Romero. Barbara Martinez who is an exceptional flamenco dancer accompanied Hernan
Romero with her performance. Needless to say, the food, service, music, and venue made the gala
unforgettable.
